Start with a honest baseline typing test
You cannot improve what you do not measure. Take one 60-second test under normal conditions — same keyboard, same posture, no warm-up race — and record corrected WPM, raw WPM, accuracy, and consistency.
- Use the same test length every week so scores are comparable.
- Write down corrected WPM and accuracy; ignore one-off personal bests.
- If accuracy is under 95%, speed work comes later — fix accuracy first.
