Preguntas Frecuentes
What is home row typing?
Home row typing means resting your fingers on A S D F G H J K L (the middle letter row) and typing from that anchor. The bumps on F and J help you find position without looking.
Which keys are on the home row?
On a QWERTY keyboard the home row letters are A, S, D, F, G, H, J, K, and L. This test only uses those letters so you can isolate home-row technique.
Who should practice home row typing?
Beginners learning touch typing, students rebuilding finger placement, and anyone whose hands drift off the home row during faster tests.
How is this different from a beginner typing test?
A beginner test still uses everyday words with top- and bottom-row letters. Home row typing removes those keys entirely so every character stays on ASDFGHJKL.
Should I look at the keyboard?
Try not to. Use the on-screen keyboard as a guide, feel the F and J bumps, and return every finger to the home row after each keystroke.
What should I do after home row drills?
Move on to beginner typing, touch typing practice, or a 1-minute WPM test once home-row accuracy stays high without looking down.
